{"product_id":"very-large-and-important-pair-of-sconces-with-antique-french-shades","title":"Very LARGE and important Pair of sconces with antique french shades (ANT-400)","description":"\u003cp\u003e\r\n\t \u003c\/p\u003e\r\n\u003cdiv\u003e\r\n\tANT-400\u003c\/div\u003e\r\n\u003cdiv\u003e\r\n\t \u003c\/div\u003e\r\n\u003cdiv\u003e\r\n\tVery LARGE and important Pair of sconces with antique french shades.\u003c\/div\u003e\r\n\u003cdiv\u003e\r\n\t \u003c\/div\u003e\r\n\u003cdiv\u003e\r\n\t(we actually have four sconces --2 prs -- but are selling one pair at a time)\u003c\/div\u003e\r\n\u003cdiv\u003e\r\n\t \u003c\/div\u003e\r\n\u003cdiv\u003e\r\n\tWe have re-made the frames for these shades as the original one we had looked like\u003c\/div\u003e\r\n\u003cdiv\u003e\r\n\tit had been run over by a truck.   Still from the parts we rescued and the carving\u003c\/div\u003e\r\n\u003cdiv\u003e\r\n\twe accomplished...a great result was finally achieved.\u003c\/div\u003e\r\n\u003cdiv\u003e\r\n\t \u003c\/div\u003e\r\n\u003cdiv\u003e\r\n\tThe shades date from about 1920-30 and are some of the finest of french glass making.\u003c\/div\u003e\r\n\u003cdiv\u003e\r\n\tThey are about 3\/8” thick at the edges...really beautiful glass.\u003c\/div\u003e\r\n\u003cdiv\u003e\r\n\tThe glass shades are fully and deeply embossed with the flowers protruding\u003c\/div\u003e\r\n\u003cdiv\u003e\r\n\tfrom the surface and the diamond edges nicely embossed.\u003c\/div\u003e\r\n\u003cdiv\u003e\r\n\t \u003c\/div\u003e\r\n\u003cdiv\u003e\r\n\tWe actually received five of these shades.  We also experimented with some\u003c\/div\u003e\r\n\u003cdiv\u003e\r\n\tamber glass dye, on the one shade that was broken, which gave us some interesting results.\u003c\/div\u003e\r\n\u003cdiv\u003e\r\n\tWe toyed with the idea of making the shades amber...so if you like this idea...perhaps\u003c\/div\u003e\r\n\u003cdiv\u003e\r\n\twe could do that for you.\u003c\/div\u003e\r\n\u003cdiv\u003e\r\n\t \u003c\/div\u003e\r\n\u003cdiv\u003e\r\n\tWe carefully considered the placement of the candelabrum sockets since the original backplate\u003c\/div\u003e\r\n\u003cdiv\u003e\r\n\twas missing all hints of the previous arrangement.  After experimenting with types\u003c\/div\u003e\r\n\u003cdiv\u003e\r\n\tand arrangements of candelabrum sockets,  we settled on a 3 socket arrangement which\u003c\/div\u003e\r\n\u003cdiv\u003e\r\n\thighlights the rose \u0026amp; floral decor and fills in the bottom of the shade which often is\u003c\/div\u003e\r\n\u003cdiv\u003e\r\n\tleft dark in other sconces.  Candelabrum sockets are required due to the limited interior\u003c\/div\u003e\r\n\u003cdiv\u003e\r\n\tof the sconce.  Totally wired in our UL shop.\u003c\/div\u003e\r\n\u003cdiv\u003e\r\n\t \u003c\/div\u003e\r\n\u003cdiv\u003e\r\n\tWe recommend our small candelabrum LED bulb,  35C-E12, for very nice ambient\u003c\/div\u003e\r\n\u003cdiv\u003e\r\n\tlight and the durability of LED lighting.  Each bulb only uses 1.6 watts but produces\u003c\/div\u003e\r\n\u003cdiv\u003e\r\n\tlight equal to a 25 watt incandescent bulb.----\u003c\/div\u003e\r\n\u003cdiv\u003e\r\n\t \u003c\/div\u003e\r\n\u003cdiv\u003e\r\n\tMeasures:   An impressive LARGE 14” tall by 11 1\/2” wide.  They\u003c\/div\u003e\r\n\u003cdiv\u003e\r\n\tproject into the room 3 1\/2” at that center large rose but less in other place.\u003c\/div\u003e\r\n\u003cdiv\u003e\r\n\t \u003c\/div\u003e\r\n\u003cdiv\u003e\r\n\t$ 1,250.00  for one complete pair of sconces (as shown)... plus careful shipping.\u003c\/div\u003e","brand":"0","offers":[{"title":"Default Title","offer_id":49997951205613,"sku":"ANT-400","price":1250.0,"currency_code":"USD","in_stock":true}],"thumbnail_url":"\/\/cdn.shopify.com\/s\/files\/1\/0813\/5799\/6269\/files\/ANT-400a.jpg?v=1779311418","url":"https:\/\/jn2vnf-0i.myshopify.com\/products\/very-large-and-important-pair-of-sconces-with-antique-french-shades","provider":"Vintage Hardware \u0026 Lighting","version":"1.0","type":"link"}
