These sconces have a formal Edwardian ambiance with a pewter look, but a more restrained backplate design that is so typical of the Edwardian design style.  Almost reminds you of an Art Nouveau...but not quite.\u003c\/p\u003e\r\n\u003cp\u003e\r\n\tThe metal of the backplates is cast iron, which has a lovely pewter finish.\u003c\/p\u003e\r\n\u003cp\u003e\r\n\t\u003cb\u003eMeasurements:\u003c\/b\u003e\u003c\/p\u003e\r\n\u003cul\u003e\r\n\t\u003cli\u003e\r\n\t\tHeight:  10 ½\"\u003c\/li\u003e\r\n\t\u003cli\u003e\r\n\t\tWidth:  10 ½\" (maximum)\u003c\/li\u003e\r\n\t\u003cli\u003e\r\n\t\tProjection:  4 ¾\" from the wall into the room.\u003c\/li\u003e\r\n\u003c\/ul\u003e\r\n\u003cp\u003e\r\n\tThese sconces have been completely rewired in our UL shop with true bakelite sockets and all new wire.  We have also replaced the switches, which were originally made by Leviton in the 20s, and still made up to three years ago.  So these Leviton switches are becoming even more antique as we note this.\u003c\/p\u003e\r\n\u003cp\u003e\r\n\tReady to go...nothing needs to be done, except add the light bulbs of your choice.  We suggest using our \u003ca href=\"\/products\/led-1-6-watt-light-bulb-25-watt-equivalent-round-globe-shape-non-dimmable\"\u003eneat little LED bulb\u003c\/a\u003e if these sconces are more for ambiance, and less for full room light.
