bolts so that after the socket set is put away, you can screw on the decorative caps by hand.  We also recommend a bit of Locktite on the cap thread to help prevent tampering and\/or theft.  Once original Historic Sconce came from the \u003cem\u003eLoew’s Delancy Theatre\u003c\/em\u003e, 140-146 Delancy Street in New York City. We have re-created it as accurately as possible; making a few necessary code compliant changes to conform to our new-age UL standards. We had the original fixtures from the \u003cem\u003eLoew's Delancey Theatre\u003c\/em\u003e and sold them quite quickly reserving only a couple for our museum. After several requests,  we went to the drawing board and produced this outstanding example using our museum examples and in accordance with new UL\u003cspan class=\"s1\"\u003e \u003c\/span\u003eguidelines.\u003c\/p\u003e\r\n\u003cp class=\"p2\"\u003e\r\n\t\u003cstrong\u003eHistory:\u003c\/strong\u003e\u003c\/p\u003e\r\n\u003cp class=\"p1\"\u003e\r\n\tThe picture, of the original theater, illustrated below, and was from about 1930's. Located next door to the historic Ratner’s dairy restaurant, the \u003cem\u003eLoew’s Delancey Street Theatre\u003c\/em\u003e was once a cornerstone of life on New York’s Lower East Side. It was built in 1911, opening in 1912 as a 1,788 seat vaudeville house. It was one of the first theatres Marcus Loew built and was later converted to movies.\u003c\/p\u003e\r\n\u003cp class=\"p2\"\u003e\r\n\tWith the later 1970’s rush to the suburbs, the theatre and the surrounding neighborhood declined until the \u003cem\u003eLoew’s Delancey Theatre\u003c\/em\u003e was closed in 1976.\u003c\/p\u003e\r\n\u003cp class=\"p2\"\u003e\r\n\t\u003cstrong\u003eCreating the Loew’s Theatre Sconce:\u003c\/strong\u003e\u003c\/p\u003e\r\n\u003cp class=\"p1\"\u003e\r\n\tThe body of the sconce is made from a combination or brass castings and formings. The acrylic center shade is ribbed and the bottom ball finial is a solid glass ball with brass cap. We changed the center light from fluorescent to a 2G11 long LED center tube which will be supplied with the light. You can choose the side sockets shown below as LED GU-10. \u003c\/p\u003e\r\n\u003cp class=\"p2\"\u003e\r\n\t\u003cstrong\u003eWiring and Light Bulbs Choice:\u003c\/strong\u003e\u003c\/p\u003e\r\n\u003cp class=\"p1\"\u003e\r\n\tThis fixture can be wired with traditional incandescent sockets...or...LEDs. The center section can contain EITHER a double incandescent socket cluster or a 2G11 mounted LED\u003cspan class=\"s1\"\u003e \u003c\/span\u003etube (picture shown). The sockets, under the side wings, can be specified as to what type of socket you wish to have in stalled. You can choose 1) medium base normal sockets ...or...2) chandelier sockets...or...3) GU-10 sockets for special LED bulbs to conform to Chapter 24 code parameters.\u003c\/p\u003e\r\n\u003cp class=\"p2\"\u003e\r\n\tThe bottom switch is a 3-way which allows a combination of lighting sequences.  You can light only the center portion,  or...you can light only the wing sockets, ...or you can power-up both the wing sockets and the center tube together.\u003c\/p\u003e\r\n\u003cp class=\"p2\"\u003e\r\n\tThe effect of lighting only the side lights is like dimming since they bounce off the center glass with a bright white color. Very theater like in appearance. You also have some movement of the wings since they are connected with swivels. This allows you to open the space between the wings and the center section or close it more tightly. You can even get a bit of an angle to the wings if desired. But, the glassware was so prohibitively expensive, that we had to delay...until now. Here’s the story of this sconce:\u003c\/p\u003e\r\n\u003cp class=\"p2\"\u003e\r\n\tConsolidated Lamp \u0026amp; Glass Co of Corapolis, PA was one of America’s finest glass makers before and during the Great Depression. Unfortunately....Consolidated went bankrupt no less than three times during the Great Depression.\u003c\/p\u003e\r\n\u003cp class=\"p2\"\u003e\r\n\tThe original antique triple sconce was came up at a collector’s auction but without the shades. No one knew what shade went to this totally un-documented frame until the curator of our museum saw it...stood motionless and amazed and pronounced his opinion and logic behind the design. His final words of wisdom was...”buy it!!”\u003c\/p\u003e\r\n\u003cp class=\"p2\"\u003e\r\n\tHe knew...but was amazed...that in 40+ years of collecting, it had never been seen.\u003c\/p\u003e\r\n\u003cp class=\"p2\"\u003e\r\n\tWe know that Consolidated was in cooperation with the Art Deco fixture maker Moe Bridges. The only literature about the SINGLE sconce was a hand drawing in a simple flyer. Nothing about this fixture...nothing about chandeliers or pendants...they had only achieved a single sconce when Consolidated got into trouble during the depression. And then...went bankrupt. We were fortunate to have a few antique examples of the single sconce which we sold to maintain our museum.\u003c\/p\u003e\r\n\u003cp class=\"p2\"\u003e\r\n\tThat original, jaw-dropping 3-shade sconce is now in our museum...but...before that restoration for display, we made a poured silicon mold and this recreated sconce is the result.\u003c\/p\u003e\r\n\u003cp class=\"p2\"\u003e\r\n\tPretty rare event...very rare offering...all to benefit our museum.\u003c\/p\u003e\r\n\u003cp class=\"p2\"\u003e\r\n\tThe glassware Design comes from Consolidated’s “Martelé Line” and this recreated triple shade sconce probably comes from Moe Bridges with the assumption that the documented cooperation continued.
